Chelsea Flower Show 2025

How do designers charge?
Why is it so complicated? Primarily we would argue that the charging systems from one architect to another interior designer vary so much and can feel complicated because their services are so multi-faceted. From drawing up a scope for your brief and project break-down to liaising with external consultants, such as bat surveyors through to careful cost analysis of basement digs to pricing bespoke hand made curtains. Clearly there’s a considerable amount of services here.
Clearer? Nope. So read more below to understand how designers charge.
Can you define good taste?
The definition of taste is quite simple really: It is what you like and what you do not like.
But can we really define ‘good’ taste. We say, absolutely not! We are not here to judge. We are here to understand and help cultivate tastes. It is not for anyone to judge one person’s taste next to another. But we would argue that there is good design.
And here lies the difference.
